it's been a wild ride

CryptoCribs was a two person attempt to create a free and open home sharing marketplace

Shutting down

CryptoCribs was a beautiful place on the internet that we both poured our hearts and souls into. But we were not alone on this journey, we had more than 10 thousand active community members that believed in us and in what we were building. CryptoCribs was a magically vibrant homesharing marketplace, that we built in the summer of 2017 on a fairly modern tech stack (Node.js, React, GraphQL, Express, Web3.js). It launched a decade after Airbnb with the honest intention of bringing back the community spirit to homesharing. During our time at the rodeo, our platform enabled hundreds of stays in more than 250 cities across all continents. We spent zero dollars on marketing and relied on the sheer wildfire of early enthusiasts: "Wow... I can't tell you how thankful I am for your platform. I have met so many amazing people on this journey and my hosts here couldn't have been more amazing! Thank you so much for this insanely great platform. I really applaud you for putting it together so well and not opting for an ICO or token-based system of exchange." We also believed in freedom, integrity and sarcasm and stuff. Brian Armstrong, co-founder of Coinbase, was a strong supporter of our mission and with his team's help we ended up being one of the first Dapps to go live on Coinbase Toshi (now Coinbase Wallet). If you want to talk to us, we're still around somewhere on the internet. Email us at erasmus@cryptocribs.com or serge@cryptocribs.com. Thank you for your passion and support along the way, we'll be back with something pretty, pretty spectactular!
